Sandwich, MA- The Sandwich Chamber of Commerce will host a Lucky Duck Race and Community Clambake on Saturday, September 29, 2012. One thousand little yellow rubber ducks will be released from the Sandwich Boardwalk at 12:30pm. The public may purchase chances on the winning ducks at $10 for a lone duck or $50 for a six-quack. The 1st place duck will be worth 25% of the net proceeds (up to $2,500), 2nd place will get 15% (up to $1,500) and 3rd place will get 10% (up to $1,000). The balance of the proceeds will go to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cape Cod and the Sandwich Chamber of Commerce.
Those attending the Lucky Duck Race should park at the Town Neck Beach parking lot at the end of Freeman Avenue. After the race, attendees may ride the Duck Boat on land from the Town Neck Beach parking lot to Hemisphere Restaurant where they may partake in an old-fashioned Community Clambake. The Clambake will feature lobster or steak with all of the traditional clambake trimmings such as corn-on-the-cob, steamers, potatoes and clam chowder. Tickets for the Community Clambake are $40 per person and Kids Meals are available at $10.
