    Internationally acclaimed as a violist as well as violinist, the versatile Ida Kavafian is an artist-member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and former violinist of the Beaux Arts Trio. She has been artistic director of Music from Angel Fire in New Mexico for thirty-one years and invites several Curtis students to participate in its Young Artists Program each year. Joined by an exciting all-star lineup of Curtis Institute alumni, celebrated violinist and violist Ida Kavafian performs at Highfield Hall in a dazzling new recital program. Ms. Kavafian presents this concert as a celebration of music, friends, and colleagues: she performs with her husband, violist Steven Tenenbom, former students Benjamin Beilman and Bella Hristova and close musical colleagues Jeong-Hyoun Lee, Yekwon Sunwoo and pianist Jungeun Kim, the director of instrumental accompaniment at Curtis. The evenings fare includes the Telemann Quartet, selections from Forty-Four Duos by Bela Bartók and the dazzling Prokofiev Sonata performed by Ms. Kavafian.
