Ryan will discuss her career, extending from her days as a radio reporter to Rolling Stone magazine to the U.S. Senate to undercover investigations at Boston's 7News. She will talk about the obstacles and rewards of her television career, the challenges faced as a new reporter in 1971 and the challenges of an experienced senior reporter. Attendees will learn about her opinions on mentoring and taking risks as well as how she ended up with a dual career and her ninth novel at age 67.

A best-selling author of nine mystery novels, Ryan has won multiple prestigious awards for her crime fiction, including the coveted Mary Higgins Clark award. Her newest thriller, "Say No More," is the next installment in Ryan's award-winning Jane Ryland series and was selected as a Library Journal Best Thriller of 2016. Ryan will explain how a just-the-facts journalist adds mystery fiction to her resume and how she juggles being a reporter, an author, a wife and a grandmother.
