And lucky for those who are looking for chills and thrills this Halloween season, the ancient sea captain can be found battling sea witch Haggitha Eldridge and a host of mythical creatures that include bog monsters, mermaids, fish people, killer quahogs and carnivorous clowns throughout Captain Lazarus Haunted Harbor.

The new, 10-day haunted house and special effects show in Dennisport was created by John Sullivan, retired Barnstable High School Drama Club coach and art teacher. He based the underlying story on Cape Cod myth and lore, setting up a tale that he says began deep in the dunes in 1890.

Warning: The scare factor will be high, so the show isnt recommended for children under 10.
