Matt Jenson's MIX UP MIX UP is a brand new project, spearheaded by Jenson who is a keyboardist, singer, arranger, song-writer, producer, activist and Associate Professor of piano at Berklee College of Music. Lighting up the connection between roots/dub reggae and soul-jazz, Mix Up Mix Up presents original compositions and creative re-workings of pop, jazz and reggae anthems for the mind, body and spirit. Our inspiration comes partly from the work of Ernest Ranglin, Monty Alexander and many of the venerated reggae legends, as well as the dub stylings pioneered by Lee "Scratch" Perry. Think killer reggae grooves with soul-jazz harmonies and soloing and the creative use of electronics for dub sections. Listen, dance to and feel the positive vibrations of the Mix Up Mix Up!
