Description:
Jacob Sears Cabaret: Mick Ryan's Lament: An Irishman's Journey from the American Civil War to Custer's Last Stand, Told through Songs and Music.
Robert Emmet Dunlap takes his much acclaimed and frequently recorded song, "Mick Ryan's Lament," and expands it into a concert that uses his music and lyrics to take the audience on a musical journey from famine-era Ireland (1848) to the American Civil War (1863) to Custer's Last Stand (1876). From ballads to lively Irish tunes, the program uses original songs along with traditional music from the period. It combines history and legend to show the connections between Irish and American songs and music and of the Irish and Native American experience in the United States in the mid-1800s.
