Maceo Parker, THE leading disciple of funk and heir to the throne of James Brown, will perform at Provincetown Town Hall, Sunday June 12 at 7:30PM. Maceo Parker serves up one of the most exciting live music shows to be seen on Planet Earth today. For the last two decades Parker has been creating and performing material that is both fresh and stylistically diverse. He navigates deftly between James Brown's 1960's soul and George Clinton's 1970's freaky funk while exploring mellower jazz and the grooves of hip-hop. Maceos collaborations over the years have included Ray Charles, Ani Difranco, James Taylor, De La Soul, Dave Matthews Band and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. His timeless sound has garnered him a fresh young fan base.
