    Saturday, Nov. 7, Pleasant Bay Community Boating will host Wooden Boat Day, a celebration of the fabled boats integral to the history of Cape Cod, and now in resurgence. The day-long event will take place in Chatham from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., rain or shine.

"Wood Sails Dreams", a film featuring the heritage of wooden boat building and sailing by John Stanton and Dan Driscoll, will be screened at the Chatham Orpheum Theatre. Coffee and pastries at 9 a.m. precede the screening at 9:30 a.m. A Q & A, at 11 a.m., with director John Stanton, follows the film.

Film tickets may be purchased online for $20 at info@chathamorpheum.org Advance purchase is suggested as space is limited. Sailors, artists and woodworkers who are high school students are eligible for free passes: go to www.pbcb.cc Lunch discounts are available with film ticket stubs at Chatham Village Café and Bakery (69 Crowell Road, Chatham).

Pease Boat Works of Chatham will host a tour of its Mill Pond facility from noon to 3 p.m. and allow fans of maritime history to get up close to a 1911 Crosby Catboat and the Coast Guards famous 36500 lifeboat that rescued survivors of the Pendleton wreck off Chatham in 1952. Pease will also exhibit a 47-foot wooden ketch being built to a 1940s Herreshoff design. Noon to 3 p.m.

Pleasant Bay Community Boating (2287 Route 28, Harwich) will host an Open House at its waterfront campus with special displays from Harwich, Brewster and Orleans historical societies.

Atwood House Museum, 347 Stage Harbor Road, will offer free admission and tours of the Sea Captains Gallery and Pendleton and fishing exhibits, from 1 to 4 p.m.
