The fifth annual road race, which is organized by addiction treatment provider Gosnold Cape Cod, is in memory of David Lewis - a former Gosnold patient who achieved seven years of sobriety before dying from a heart attack at age 39.

The 3.1 mile race -- which will begin at 9 a.m. on Sept. 5 at 200 Ter Heun Drive, Falmouth -- will feature Chris Herren, a former Boston Celtic and motivational speaker who has shared his own story of addiction and recovery, and Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe. Participants can also enjoy raffles, awards, music, and kids activities.
