Bring along your drawing board, portable easel or sketchpad, we are heading out to my summer world!
Spend the afternoon and early evening in the beauty of the inner spaces of Sandy neck. Come and experience some of the spots that I have discovered, the complexities of the forest, the serenity of the marsh, the long and winding trails. Artists will be invited to paint/draw/sketch their interpretations of on their encounters with the natural world. Based on your response, I will guide you with ideas to help portray your thoughts into meaningful paintings/drawings/sketches. All participants, regardless of prior experience will be guided to find a deeper and more satisfying means of artistic expression.
All materials are welcome. You do not have to have a formal plein aire setup. A drawing board with paper attached will do. Bring whatever you feel comfortable with. You can set up an easel, or sit on a sand dune. You will be creating more than one piece, so please bring enough materials. Also, bring bug spray, sunscreen, and a hat! You can also bring a small folding chair if you have an extra. Drinking water (and a bathroom) will be supplied.
The plan is to meet at CCAA at 12:30 and load all the gear into the back of my pickup (pack so things wont blow away!). We will leave the cars parked at CCAA and load into four 4×4 vehicles. The workshop is limited to 16 artists. We should be on location and working by 1:30. We will paint until about 5 and then we will end the day at my cottage and enjoy a lovely outdoor meal prepared by my sister-in-law Pam and catch the sunset from my upper deck. (please let me know of any food allergies or restrictions!) Wine contributions are welcome! We will head back to CCAA around 8 and should arrive there by 9:30.
It is sure to be a memorable experience!
