The family of Alex Holmes will host a special concert in his memory. The proceeds will support youth programs and provide scholarships for the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. The concert will feature performances by Abstract Dub Company, Quincy Dewing, Dark Rodeo, Garcia-Renart and Max Holbrook, Kassie Carlson, and from 1-3pm will be a silent auction.
Alex was killed in a fatal car accident on May 22, 2014, at the age of 26. Affectionately called "Alex of the Ocean" by his family, Alex was born and raised in North Falmouth. He had recently returned to Cape Cod after living in Boston, Western Massachusetts, and Oakland, California. Melissa Hatton, his cousin, says, The Alexander D. Holmes Memorial Fund is in loving memory of Alex Holmes, whose endless imagination continues to inspire us. He was a talented guitarist and musician; soft-spoken and hilarious; a loyal and beloved son, grandson, brother, cousin, nephew, and friend. Alex forged his own path in life and in music.
