Learn the technique to make small string by hand, known as foxes to the old time sailors. Try your hand at a primitive hand crank rope making machine. There will be a demonstration of the various ways which Natural ropes are finished at the ends (back splice, whippings etc.) each student will leave with their own home made rope. Knot making if time permits.
