Herring Count Volunteer Training Have you ever wanted to be a herring counter or just wondered what is a herring counter? Then please come to Liberty Hall in Marstons Mills and learn all about the annual herring migration. We will be holding our annual herring count volunteer training session on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Everyone is invited to attend and to sign up to be a herring counter! It's a wonderful volunteer opportunity that takes a minimal amount of time and effort. The herring are only here for a very short time, 6-8 weeks, and we need to document how many make their annual trek up the Marstons Mills River to spawn. Be a part of this exciting and worthwhile effort!
