Jamie Foxx plays the magnificent Ray Charles, who went blind at the age of nine and grew up so attuned to sound that he never used a cane or a dog. Charles was involved with production of this film until a few months before his death and filmmakers had full access to his recordings, giving film viewers a lush soundtrack.
