"The Third Annual First Night Sandwich will be held on New Year's Eve, Wednesday, December 31, 2014, from 4 to 8 pm. This year's theme "Town of Giants" honors Michael Magyars sculptures known as The Giants . Michael is owner of The Glass Studio on Cape Cod. His creation of 36 sculptures, which are located along Route 6A and in and around the town, are something completely unique to Sandwich. This is the year to tell all that Sandwich is the "Town of Giants" and showcase this fantastic spectacle in the oldest town on Cape Cod. First Night Sandwich is in its third year. It is a non-alcoholic family festival of multi-cultural activities including events for children, musical presentations and exciting live performances in venues located both inside and outside in Sandwich Village.
Festive souvenirs will be available for sale at various locations to commemorate the evening. A Revelers Parade of giants created by Rob Vinciguerra and his volunteers, includes music, bioluminescence giants and bicycles, horses (and always something new), will wind down Main Street at 8 pm. A grand Finale will end the evening at Town Hall Square, at 9 pm, with the lighting of Magyar's Giant lighthouse near the Dexter Grist Mill, and a few new surprises."
