Tonight's feature is Tenzin Chopak (vocals, guitar, piano), a multi-talented artist and songwriter based in Ithaca, NY, and founding member of the acclaimed roots/folk ensemble Rockwood Ferry. Tenzin presents his work beyond genre with something akin to pure theater, evoking the primal feeling and texture of universality that is present in roots traditions, yet with a charged vulnerability and intimacy in both his dynamic musicality and elegant lyricism. Opening the show is local duo Grand Public, which features Bertrand Boudier and Vanessa Downing, who will present their subtly sophisticated indie folk/pop originals, with a surprise guest or two!
