Shoppers will be able to choose among charitable gifts from around the world when 19 local and global organizations join Saturday and Sunday in Falmouth for the eighth annual Upper Cape Alternative Gift Market.

Alternative giving, according to a press release, allows a shopper to make a donation to a charitable group in the name of a friend or family member rather than giving a traditional gift. The recipient then receives a card describing the gift and its purpose.
