Description:
    The first Best of Barnstable Harvest Pie Contest and Bake Sale will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Olde Colonial Courthouse at 3046 Main Street in Barnstable Village.
Pies will be judged on appearance, aroma, taste and creativity by a panel of judges including: Honorable H. Gregory Williams, Edgartown District Court first justice; Tom Dott, co-owner, Lamb and Lion Inn; Terri Horn, owner, Kayak Cookies; Sheila Lyons, Barnstable County Commissioner; John Rega, producer of "Fooding Around" and Laura Shechtman, owner of Nirvana Coffee Shop.
The grand prize winner will receive: a $75 gift certificate donated by Susan Finegold of Barnstable Restaurant; a handmade flameware Pie Baking Plate donated by Kevin Nolan of Barnstable Pottery; and the opportunity to have his or her pie featured on the The Blue Plate Diner menu.
