The fifth annual Celebrate Our Waters Festival, boasting 60 water-related activities for adults and children, will take place from Friday evening through Sunday. The weekend celebration of the Outer Cape's waters, beaches and marshes, sponsored by the Orleans Pond Coalition, Inc., spans more than 30 locations from Brewster to Eastham.

Admission to all events which range from a model-sailboat regatta to an art gallery reception to a bonfire and concert at Nauset Beach is free.

Festivities kick off at 6 p.m. Friday with the Rum-Soaked Crooks performing nautical tunes at the Old Fire House Gallery in Orleans. The main celebration then starts at 8 a.m. Saturday with a meet-and-greet with local plein-air painters and finishes up with a 4:30 p.m. Sunday tour of the Rock Creek Oysters farm. The event's main exhibit tent will be at Depot Square on Old Colony Way in Orleans.

Attendees can once again enjoy kayak tours; a wide variety of talks, guided walks and tours; and a sailing event, which showcases a completely restored Crosby Catboat this year

Children will also have a chance to test out the waters with a sand-sculpture contest, fishing at Crystal Lake Beach, an arts-and-crafts tent on Depot Square and more.
