Description:
    A Symphonic Mount Rushmore
The internationally recognized conductor/composer Charles Zachary Bornstein will give a lecture and multimedia presentation on his new symphony, Clarion Calls, composed in honor of President John F. Kennedy and the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Bornsteins magnificent new symphonic work Clarion Calls incorporates, against a full symphonic orchestra, dramatic narration of Kennedys and King's urgent pleas for world peace and alleviation of global suffering. In the words of the composer, the speeches of JFK and MLK, Jr. are the lore and poetry of the struggle for freedom in the 20th Century, both at home and around the world. My new composition is a tribute to these two great leaders. Bornstein will describe how he was inspired to write this work in the early years of his career.
