The Color of Nature: A Solo Exhibit by Glass Artist SJ Davis
|
Description:
A tree, a rock, a cloud... a piece of glass. Carson McCullers once illuminated the pantheist idea of finding union with the whole of nature in her novella of the same name. In the exhibit "The Color of Nature" glass artist S.J. Davis explores the philosophical underpinnings of Spinozan pantheism, or the notion that "the mind's union with the whole of nature" is possible if only one takes the time to look. Life isn't real until you look at it. Visitors are invited to view Davis' pantheist vision of Nature at the opening of his solo exhibit at The Artist Exposure Gallery in Plymouth on Friday, June 21 2013, from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
