Amherst College professor of history and environmental science and FA alumnus, Dr. Edward Melillo, gives a pre-recorded presentation which explores the interesting and surprising ways insects shape and sustain our modern way of life followed by a Q&A with FA Science Department Chair and Geologist, Liz Klein. They will discuss Melillos second book, The Butterfly Effect: Insects and the Making of the Modern World, heralded as a "fascinating, entertaining dive into the long-standing relationship between humans and insects revealing the surprising ways we depend on these tiny, six-legged creatures for our existence."
