WHAT: Outermost Contra Dance WHEN: Friday, January 10, 2020 WHERE: Wellfleet Preservation Hall, 335 Main Street, Wellfleet, MA CALLER: Erica Weiss MUSICIANS: Married to Corrigans Come celebrate the start of a spectacular new decade by dancing to great live music and a renowned dance caller! Boston musician, performer, singer/songwriter and contra dance caller, Erica Weiss will grace our first dance of 2020. We are so fortunate to have this multi-talented caller come to Wellfleet! Erica will be calling to the music of local band Married to Corrigans, and, yes, theyre all married to Corrigans: Stuart Moore on fiddle, Amy Corrigan on guitar and William Montague on banjo will pick up your spirits with lively old-time and Celtic dance favorites. Contra dancing is the older cousin to the square dance. No fancy footwork needed if you can walk, you can dance! All the dances are taught and called. If youre new to contra dance, be sure to get in on the early dances for the basic moves. No need to bring a partner; there are plenty of friendly people in this welcoming dance community. And dont miss out on our delicious potluck at 6. Outermost Contra is one of many contradances on the Cape, and was organized in December of 2014. The contra dance is family friendly and welcomes dancers of all levels. Community potluck at 6:00 Dance begins at 7:00 Suggested donation is $10. $20 maximum per group
