Shake out the shopping blues with Outermost Contra! Swing your partner, dosido your friends and neighbors, and let the holiday spirit guide your feet! Outermost Contra Dance welcomes back local caller John Alden. John will be teaching each dance and will present a mix of contras, mixers and squares. Dancers appreciate Johns humorous and friendly style of calling. John will be accompanied this month by an incredibly talented trio: Amy Larkin AND Rose Clancy on fiddles and Jacqueline Schwab on piano. Amy Larkin is our local high energy contra dance fiddler who has played dances all over New England. Rose Clancy is Chathams well known fiddler, performer, fiddle maker, teacher and session musician. Jacqueline Schwab is a renowned piano player, not only for English Country and contra dances, but also known for her musical additions to Ken Burns documentaries. Contra dancing is the older cousin to the square dance. No fancy footwork needed  if you can walk, you can dance! All the dances are taught and called. If youre new to contra dance, be sure to get in on the early dances for the basic moves. And dont miss out on our welcoming and delicious potluck at 6. Outermost Contra is one of many contra dances on the Cape, and was organized in December of 2014. The contra dance is family friendly and welcomes dancers of all levels. Community potluck at 6:00 Dance begins at 7:00 Outermost Contra hosts traditional New England contradances on the Outer Cape with live music every third Friday of each month.
