Description:
Because it's raining -- and likely to continue -- the rain date is now in effect for our AUTUMN IN COTUIT festivities this weekend. The event is now scheduled from 11 am to 3 pm SUNDAY, OCTOBER 13, still on the ground of the Historical Society of Santuit & Cotuit, 1148 Main Street, Cotuit.
Admission is $6, $5 for HSSC members, $3 for children ages 4-12.
As usual, we'll have a sale of homemade pies ($20 whole, or $3 for a slice to eat on the spot). You can also sample any or all of the batches of chili entered in our first ever Cotuit Chili Challenge and vote for your favorites.
Giving the event a historical flavor, volunteers will be preparing a meal using the walk-in fireplace and beehive oven in our 1808 Samuel Dottridge Homestead.
Other attractions include a fly-tying demonstration by Mike DeSisto and a weaving demonstration by Jane Moore. Author Annie B. Copps will be on hand to sign copies of her new recipe book, "A Little Taste of Cape Cod," available in our gift shop. There will be outdoor games for children. The entry fee includes a complimentary glass of beer or nonalcoholic cider.
