About the DJ:
Ben Woods, creating under the name Bosq, has been tirelessly exploring the intersections of Afro-Latin music with Disco, Funk, Reggae, House and Hip Hop for years.
A Cape Cod native, Woods is a 2002 graduate of Nauset Regional High School, and 2007 graduate Northeastern University and holds dual degrees in Music Technology and Multi-Media Studies. Bosq first gained notoriety in Boston and New York as one half of the Whiskey Barons. For years the duo created a continuous stream of edits and remixes. During that time he was also working on solo productions becoming a highly sought after producer while signed with Ubiquity Records, Soul Clap Records, and Fania Records.
Dance floors and critics have both responded well to the incredibly consistent output of music. Beatswapmeet commented on the first album, its a beautiful mixture of afro beats, Latin rhythms, soulful house, disco, with subtle dancehall and hip hop influences." The acclaim has continued with Mixmag rating the lead single off his fourth album Cant Seem to Hide a perfect 10/10 and granting it Tune of the Month." His latest endeavor sees Bosq producing gospel & jazz infused disco & house alongside The Rapture co-founder and drummer Vito Roccoforte as Body Music.
Bosqs music has seen consistent play from the likes of Gilles Peterson & Craig Charles on the BBC, KCRW, RinseFM & countless others, while Djs like Kerri Chandler, Poolside, Nancy Whang, Soul Clap, Laurent Garnier & Jeremy Soul give his tunes constant rotation in clubs and at festivals. Gigs have taken Bosq across North & South America, Europe, and Asia, to clubs and festivals like Rakastella (Miami), OYA (Oslo) and countless others. He has shared stages with the likes of Joe Claussel, Bobbito, J Rocc & Tony Touch to name a few. His music has been featured in films and television such as The Catch (ABC), Youre The Worst (FX), Broad City (Comedy Central), and more.
