Description:
The Cape Cod Theatre Project, a professional theatre lab, brings together award-winning playwrights and actors, often straight from Broadway, to Cape Cod for staged readings of new American plays.
Playwright Mat Smart presents The Elephants, a searing comedy about race and privilege.
Dr. Q runs an unorthodox three-day racial sensitivity retreat in idyllic Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Six people have been sent there by their employers for doing something at their jobs on the racism spectrum from mildly to completely racist (well, everyone except Kara, a white stay-at-home mom whos there by choice because she wants to learn how to be a better ally). With provocative and unconventional exercises, Dr Q creates anything but a safe space, forcing these six desperate people to confront the things we dont talk about.
Plays fostered with the Cape Cod Theatre Project have achieved great success with over 60 plays produced on Broadway, Off-Broadway and at regional theaters around the world. Experience these dynamic works before they move on to major stages around the country.
Celebrating its 25th season this summer, the Cape Cod Theatre Project will feature four new American plays covering a range of subject matter and genres including a comedy, thriller, reflections of a personal journey, and stories of twentieth-century American optimism.
