Description:
"Each week in July and August the Nantucket Musical Arts Society offers a free, informal talk one day before a scheduled concert. They feature musicians playing excerpts from the works they will perform, as well as a great deal of discussion about the piece and their performance of it. The sessions offer an excellent chance for music lovers of all ages to chat with the artists about their craft. PUBLIQuartet will perform a full concert on Tues., Aug. 6 at 8 pm at the First Congregational Church. PUBLIQuartet is dedicated to presenting new works for string quartet, which is made up of two violins, a cello and viola. PUBLIQuartet's commitment to support emerging composers inspired their innovative program, PUBLIQ Access, designed in 2014 to promote emerging composers and to present a wide variety of under-represented music for string quartet-from classical, jazz and electronic, to non-notated, world and improvised music." - Nantucket Atheneum
