The song of birds can be soothing and inspiring to us humans, but birds sing for more than just the beauty of it. Birds use song, call notes and behavior to communicate with each other. They also use sound and action to scare off predators or warn other birds about danger, to defend territory or to attract a mate during breeding season.

Through lecture, slides and Phil Kyles own carvings, the explanation of why birds vocalize is revealed. Science fiction will take on a whole new reality when migration, singing, nest building and territorial defense are discussed. Fasten your seat belts for an in depth but understandable explanation of bird behavior!
