Spring is coming soon!! In the meantime, shake out the Cape winter blues with Outermost Contra! Swing your partner, dosido your friends and neighbors, and let the hope of spring guide your feet! Outermost Contra Dance welcomes back Marthas Vineyard caller John Freeman. John will be traveling off-island again to call our March dance John calls contra and square dances, family dances, school dances, and Civil War balls. He also leads caller workshops and music and dance workshops for teachers and students John will be calling to the music of renowned pianist Jacqueline Schwab and contradance fiddler Amy Larkin, known up and down the Cape for her repertoire of dance tunes. Contra dancing is the older cousin to the square dance. No fancy footwork needed  if you can walk, you can dance! All the dances are taught and called. If youre new to contra dance, be sure to get in on the early dances for the basic moves. And dont miss out on our welcoming and delicious potluck at 6. Outermost Contra is one of many contradances on the Cape, and was organized in December of 2014. The contra dance is family friendly and welcomes dancers of all levels.
