"Designed for veterans with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It is also open to anyone struggling with trauma of any kind: brain injury, stroke, dementia, and PTSD.
... weekly 60-minute classes using Conga drums and hand instruments. The class focuses on drumming as a group, and each week begins with a warm-up and runs through a series of rhythms designed to balance brain waves and body rhythms, increase neuroplasticity, and stimulate the brain's production of neurotransmitters that produce focus, attention, and relaxation."
Tuesdays from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in the Art Studio
Cost: All veterans with PTSD are invited to participate. The class is free to veterans, their family, and Active Duty Service Members with PTSD, and drums are provided.
For all others, the suggested fee is $10 for adults, $5 for students.
Drop-ins are welcome.
This ongoing class is generously funded by The Golf Club of Cape Cod's TGC Fund, a donor advised fund though the Cape Cod Foundation.
