Persepolis (Iran/France - 2007)

Marjane Satrapi was born in 1969 in an Iran that exists no longer. With the fall of the Shah, life in Iran changed dramatically, particularly for spirited young women. Persepolis is Marjane's coming-of-age story, initially told in the format of two graphic novels, and now as an animated film.
