When Diane's son is killed in a hit-and-run accident and the police cannot find those responsible, she sets out to find them herself. She locates the suspected vehicle and becomes involved with the owners, pretending to be interested in buying their car. Although Diane's plan is to take revenge for her loss, the film focuses more on Diane's soul-searching.
