Outermost Contra Dance welcomes Marthas Vineyard caller John Freeman for the first time. John will be traveling off-island to grace our December dance for the first time. Welcome John! John calls contra and square dances, family dances, school dances, and Civil War balls. He also leads caller workshops and music and dance workshops for teachers and students John will be calling to the music of local band Married to Corrigans, and, yes, theyre all married to Corrigans. Stuart Moore on fiddle, Amy Corrigan on guitar and William Montague on banjo will pick up your spirits with lively old-time and Celtic dance favorites. Contra dancing is the older cousin to the square dance. No fancy footwork needed  if you can walk, you can dance! All the dances are taught and called. If youre new to contra dance, be sure to get in on the early dances for the basic moves. And dont miss out on our welcoming and delicious potluck at 6. Outermost Contra is one of many contradances on the Cape, and was organized in December of 2014. The contra dance is family friendly and welcomes dancers of all levels. Community potluck at 6:00 Dance begins at 7:00 Outermost Contra hosts traditional New England contradances on the Outer Cape with live music every third Friday of each month.
