Set against the harsh but breathtaking landscape of Tibet, The Horse Thief tells the story of Norbu, a thief who is banished from his clan. Norbu, his wife, and son, Tashi, struggle to survive on their own. The son dies and, when a second son is born, Norbu returns to theft in order to ensure their survival. Martin Scorsese calls The Horse Thief the #1 film of the 90s. In Tibetan with English subtitles.
