A Beatles tribute band and an outdoor beer garden will highlight the 13th annual Lennon Fest, marking what would have been John Lennons 78th birthday on Oct. 9. The event will feature Walrus Gumboot, a Beatles tribute band, and musical guest Ian Motha, a member of Beatles-influenced bands Apples and the Oh Nos. Family activities will include a turbo obstacle course, a gladiator joust, a bounce castle and face-painting, and hot dogs, burgers and soft drinks will be sold. Proceeds from the sales will benefit Falmouth resident Brian Kerins, a member of Walrus Gumboot who is undergoing treatment for cancer.
When: 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday ( Late Night entertainment for adults will follow 7 p.m. to midnight at British Beer Company). Rain date is Oct. 14.
