WHAT: Outermost Contra Dance WHEN: Friday, April, 2018 WHERE: Wellfleet Preservation Hall, 335 Main Street, Wellfleet, MA CALLER: Pat Nash MUSICIANS: Celtic Roots: Jonathan Ford, Bailey Ford, Gavin Rice Suggested donation is $10. $20 maximum per group. Outermost Contra is pleased to announce that the April dance will welcome the Celtic Roots musicians, Jonathan Ford, Bailey Ford, and Gavin Rice. Celtic Roots, (formerly the Keltic Kids) is an energetic young band playing Celtic music at various locations around Massachusetts and beyond. Local Eastham caller, Pat Nash, will lead you through fun, easy dances to the accompaniment of this great group of youngsters. Contra dancing is the older cousin to the square dance. No fancy footwork needed if you can walk, you can dance! All the dances are taught and called. Outermost dances begin with a half hour beginner workshop. Outermost Contra is one of many contradances on the Cape, and was organized in December of 2014. The contra dance is family friendly and welcomes dancers of all levels.
Community potluck at 6:00 Beginner workshop starts at 7:00. Dance begins at 7:30
Outermost Contra hosts traditional New England contradances on the Outer Cape with live music every third Friday of each month.
