Description:
Jake Klim, author of Attack on Orleans (History Press 2014) will speak about the 1918 attack on Orleans by a German U-boat. Several shots fired from the U-boat hit the Orleans shore, making Orleans the only place on US soil to receive enemy gunfire during World War I. Klims book provides a carefully researched chronical of the attack and the resilience of the Orleans citizens.
