    Tick Days Documentary Screening - " ... Do your children play under trees or walk through tall grass? Do not miss entomologist Larry Dapsis and filmmaker Marnie Crawford Samuelson at the Hyannis Public Library on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 4 p. m. for a showing of a documentary called "Tick Days." This short documentary film was produced by Ms. Samuelson and Shane Hofeldt. The program is free and open to the public. "Tick Days" addresses the growing health crisis in New England generally and on Cape Cod in particular. It's no longer just about Lyme Disease. Deer ticks as well as the newly established Lone Star Tick carry many pathogens that cause serious illnesses. Larry Dapsis is the Deer Tick Project Coordinator and Entomologist at The Cape Cod Cooperative Extension and a member of the Barnstable County Task Force on Lyme and other Tick-Borne Diseases. Marnie Crawford Samuelson works in documentary video, audio, and multimedia. Her short films include Rockers, Inside Motherwell's Dumpster, Selina Trieff Will Not Stop, By the Waters, and A Box of One's Own. Her radio stories have aired on WCAI, the Cape and Islands NPR station." Free and open to the public.
