Description:
Holiday Cookie Stroll in Historic Bass River -- A Benefit for the South Yarmouth Library The Eighth Annual Holiday Cookie Stroll will take place on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10:00-3:00, rain or shine, in historic Bass River, South Yarmouth. The "ticket" is actually a cookbook with the recipes of all cookies served on this two-mile walking tour to ten sites, including seven private homes, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, and an added treat this year -- the Simpkins School Residences. The tour also includes an Open House at the South Yarmouth Library. The cookbook comes with a festive drawstring bag for collecting cookies along the way. Free trolley transport will be available between groups of houses. All of the proceeds go to support the South Yarmouth Library. This years honorees are Trustee Emeritus Hester and Eric Attle, both long- time volunteers and supporters of the South Yarmouth Library. Cider and cranberry bread will be served at the library, where visitors will see a display about the Attles.
Tickets are $15.00. Children under 12 are free, but only ticket holders receive cookies. Tickets are limited and may be purchased starting on Monday, Nov. 25 at the South Yarmouth Library; Bass River Shoe Repair at 146 Old Main Street; and Adrene Jewelers, 1198 Route 28, in the Hearth and Kettle Plaza. Tickets may be reserved with a credit card at (508) 760- 4820, ext. 1313, 10:00- 4:00 daily, except noon to 4:00 on Sunday. The event usually sells out early.
