Description:
Jan 15 11:00 a.m. &&&&&&&&&& RSVP-Free A pharmacy brown bag program allows members of the community to discuss their medications with a pharmacist. The program is referred to as a brown bag program because the patient is supposed to gather up all of their medications (prescription, over-the-counter (OTC), vitamin and herbal supplements), and bring them in a brown bag to a designated location to discuss them with a pharmacist. These types of events can take place almost anywhere in the community. They can be held at senior centers, assisted living facilities, pharmacies, libraries, grocery stores, health fairs, malls, churches, etc... A brown bag program allows the person to take advantage of a one-on-one consultation with a pharmacist about everything they are currently taking. Programs such as these can help eliminate confusion about a patients medications, decrease medication errors, as well as promote communication between the patients and pharmacists in the community.
