Description:
Dancing for a Cure will hold its 8th annual holiday fundraiser for ovarian and breast cancer support at 2 and 7 p.m. at Barnstable High School, 744 West Main St., Hyannis (with a third show a 2 p.m. Sunday).
More than 100 dancers of Dance Designs in Hyannis will perform classical "Nutcracker" variations as well as tap and inspirational contemporary dance numbers. Among them will be student Isabella Shaw of Yarmouth, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia several years ago and was treated at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, which has been involved with this fundraiser.
Other local performers include singer-songwriter Alicia Mathewson, vocalist Monica Fenuccio, and Barnstable's Broadway Kids Musical Theatre.
There will be a silent auction, opportunity baskets and DFAC merchandise available.
