    Program for 14th Philanthropy Day of Cape Cod on November 10th, 2010 Now Available

The Planned Giving Council of Cape Cod is pleased to announce that registration for Philanthropy Day on Cape Cod is now open and the Program for the day is available on www.capecodgiving.org. The event will be held at the Resort and Conference Center at Hyannis from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10th.

A volunteer team of development, planned giving professionals and estate planners has been busy working on the program for the day which starts with roundtables, educational sessions in multiple tracks and culminating with an inspiring Awards Presentation Luncheon. Historically, this has been a sell-out event so early registration is encouraged and available on-line at www.capecodgiving.org/philanthropy.html

Philanthropy Day on Cape Cod, now in its 14th year, is one of the biggest events on the Cape aimed at sharing, learning and celebrating philanthropy on Cape Cod. Philanthropy Day is aimed at professionals in nonprofit organizations of any size on Cape Cod, their volunteers, board members as well as professional advisors such as attorneys, estate planners, businesses and others.

This year's Philanthropy Day is sponsored by a number of organizations and businesses in the area. The Edward Bangs Kelley and Elza Kelley Foundation is the Premier Sponsor and Cape and Islands United Way is Community Underwriter. Pentera is Breakfast and Roundtable Sponsor and Sunderland Printing in Hyannis is the Printing Underwriter. The day starts off with roundtables covering a variety of topics to include: Attracting the Younger Philanthropist; Developing as a Fundraising Professional/Learning about CFRE; Finding Markers of Philanthropy; Grant Writing; How to Build a Better Board; Long-Range Planning & Strategic Planning; Volunteer Management; Planning a Successful Large-Scale Special Event; Winning Relationships.

Sessions cover: Fundraising Basics  Part I and II; Relationship Rescue: How to Keep Your Donors in Love With You; Major Gifts Work in a Small Shop; Bequest and Planned Gift Collection; Critical Components of Successful Board Leadership; Using Social Media to Boost Your Fundraising Efforts; Tips & Tricks for Direct Mail & E-Mail Marketing for the Shop of any Size.

The day ends with lunch and the recognition of the 2010 Distinguished Service to Philanthropy Awards: These awards recognize the dedication and generosity of those who support the many nonprofits on Cape Cod and the Islands. Award categories include Outstanding Volunteer, Outstanding Business, Outstanding Philanthropist, and Outstanding Youth/Youth Organization.
