This fall, Master Fresco Artist Silvestro Pistolesi of Florence, Italy, completes his commission at the Church of the Transfiguration at Rock Harbor, Orleans, painting the final panels of the 2,936 square feet of frescos in the church.

The exhibit at the CCMA provides an extraordinary opportunity to view Maestro Pistolesis detailed drawings and color studies of the frescos at the Church of the Transfiguration. Visitors to the museum will have the unique experience of watching live demonstrations of the true fresco process by the maestros students. The majority of the exhibit focuses on the frescos, and the true fresco process, however, other exhibit pieces from the Church of the Transfiguration will also be on display, as well as a DVD presentation.

Three Gallery Talks and live demonstrations are scheduled for this exhibition: Saturday, November 13, 2:30 pm; Saturday, December 11, 2 pm; and Saturday, January 15, 2 pm. All are free with paid museum admission ($8, no charge 18 & under).
