Description:
Founded in 2000 by a collective of dance artists, The Extremes blend music, theater, dance, soap opera and the art of storytelling. The group presents the premiere of their one-act play, "It's A War Out There". The play, directed by Joanne Callum Powers, is written and performed by 6 daughters telling their story of growing up with dad in the wake of WWII. When the war was over dad became a warrior without a war. He traded his rifle for the brief case and the battle at home was waged. Dad taught us that life is short, life is tough, dont forget to smile, look them right in the eye, wash your hands before dinner, and dont forget
Its a War Out There.
Linda Auerbach, Joanne Callum Powers, Nancy Crosby, Barbara Ehle, Lynn Ellison-Murphy, and Barbara Vlachich are thrilled to be back at CCftA after sold-out shows in 2007.
The Extremes are working together with Berklee College of Music composer, Bryce Kanzer to create an original score for this show. They are also joined by writer/performer, Christine Rathbun. Her acclaimed one-woman shows, Reconstruction, or How I Learned to Pay Attention and Giant Women were MCC grant finalist. Her work has been featured in the magazine, MAMM and the literary journal, Ars Medica.
