Joyce Rasmussen Balint, mandolin soloist with The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, NYC, will play a solo mandolin recital on Sunday, November 17 at 3 pm at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Harwich.
Joyce Balint will present a concert of varied music for mandolin spanning a 100-year period, between 1700 and 1800. Of particular interest are two little-known pieces for solo mandolin by Beethoven. Balint has been the mandolin soloist with the Metropolitan Opera Association since 1973. She has also performed with the Paris Opera, the Boston Symphony Orchestra (in Symphony Hall, Tanglewood and Carnegie Hall), New York City Opera and the American Symphony.
