Description:
    The American Red Cross, Cape Cod and Islands Chapter will offer Free Volunteer classes at Marthas Vineyard Regional High School beginning October 6, 2009. After the training, you will become a certified Red Cross volunteer, responding to disasters and emergencies on the Island (house fire, airplane crash, oil spill, hurricane preparedness) and with some experience you could also be deployed locally or nationally. The class is open to anybody, 17 years and up who would like to become a Red Cross volunteer. There are no other prerequisites and the classes are free.

All classes are required to become a certified volunteer. Weekday classes begin at 6:00pm and weekend Classes begin at 9:00am. To sign up for this volunteer training is only possible by calling Michael Robbins at 508-888-7316 or by sending an e-mail request to register to Train@cciredcross.org. Become a Red Cross Volunteer classes will be held at Martha's Vineyard Regional High School, located at 100 Edgartown Rd., Oak Bluffs, MA. 02557.
A Federal Background check is required of all participants. All seven classes must be attended. However, there may be some make-up dates available.
