THE event of the season. Support the Edward Gorey House, one of the Cape's crown jewels, at the Ninth Goreyfest and Gala, our only major fundraiser of the year. Enjoy great food and drink, camaraderie and live music all in Gorey surroundings. Held at another local treasure ~ the Cultural Center of Cape Cod is excited to be the venue of this annual event. Dress in your Edwardian-era suits and dresses (with a nod to the great man himself). A highlight will be the auctioning of the remainder of Edward's iconic fur coats, both on-line and on-site that evening! (Four-legged lovers and advocates need not feel torn by this, since several animal welfare groups have endorsed the auction, which raises money, not only for the Gorey House, but for the Edward Gorey Charitable Trust, which provides funds annually strictly for the care and welfare of animals, a proud legacy of Edward himself. Tickets are $125 per person, $225 per couple.
