West Falmouth Village Celebration Day will be on Sunday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at West Falmouth Swift Playground. This is a family-friendly event with field games, pony rides, and food.
The playground is located 200 feet from the Chappaquoit (West Falmouth) Fire Station on Blacksmith Shop Road.
At 10 a.m. the grand opening of the newly completed West Falmouth Swift Playground will be celebrated.
From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be field games, pony rides by Fieldcrest Farm, face painting, local vendors, music from Pine Street Pickers, and judging of carved pumpkins for prizes. Buy hot dogs and hamburgers to benefit the playground, or bring a picnic from home.
Walking and biking to the playground is encouraged because parking is limited.
There will be the photo exhibit, West Falmouth Then and Now, at West Falmouth Library and the Fall Harvest of Books sale in the librarys lower level.
The West Falmouth Veterinary Clinic will raffle a pet portrait. Proceeds benefit the playground. Anne Downs Art Gallery will donate 25 percent of all art sales that weekend to the playground, as well.
The rain date is Columbus Day: Monday, Oct. 14.
