Description:
Denya LaVine, a classically trained violinist, has traveled the world learning ethnic fiddle music. She has the unique ability to sing in three(3) languages to help people connect with each other through music. It is known that the ability to understand and respond to music can be appreciated on an emotional level and can sometimes be the gateway to past stories and memories. Research shows that stimulation through music can help memory and enhance conversation among people with dementia. Participants will engage not only with the music, but also with others in the group to bond and help promote a sense of well being and reduced stress. Music has been used to facilitate conversation and connectedness among people with dementia. Everyone is invited to participate, but those who are caregivers for Alzheimer and dementia patients are encouraged to attend with their patient. Call today to reserve a seat, 508-896-2737. Light refreshments will be served.
